LingoDeer Dev Log | February 1, 2026

Hey everybody,
How are you doing? Hope you are doing well and had a lovely weekend. This week we are sharing what we shipped to you this week in LingoDeer on both iOS and Android. We hope you like the changes.
Android
- Lesson settings are easier to get to now. Fewer taps, less menu digging.
- You can switch display modes way faster in more places now. This applies to Korean, Japanese, and Chinese and works inside:
- SRS flashcards
- Quick Quiz
- Stories
- Word spelling practice now includes native speaker videos, which makes those exercises feel a lot less abstract.
iOS
- SRS now has a mixed display option if you don’t want the same format every time.
- You can finally turn off native speaker videos in Settings if you prefer a lighter setup.
- A bunch of bugs were fixed, including:
- Video delay issues
- Testout not showing up in daily streak stats
- Blank tiles in Korean spelling exercises
- Plus other smaller fixes that were just quietly broken before
Barefoot shoes have become increasingly popular because many people enjoy their comfort and natural movement benefits. Personal experiences and honest reviews are especially useful when trying to decide whether minimalist footwear suits individual lifestyles and preferences well.
I found the barefoot shoe review thoughtful and informative It’s helpful reading honest experiences about comfort and adjustment periods because transitioning to minimalist footwear can feel intimidating for beginners initially.
So are any of the language courses like German amd others that have been on there since the beginning ever actually going to recieve an update?
These courses should align fully to the CEFR levels amd theres no way of knowing where you are, at duolingo is working towards that and its free.
We paid for you and nothings really changed for years, half the time I feel like it was an absolute waste of time.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your February 2026 development log! It’s fascinating how you’re always improving LingoDeer’s user slope free experience. The announcements about including more interactive features piqued my interest, especially with language learning being so dynamic.
